2019 Club Exhibition and Sale

Goathland Old Reading Room

Saturday and Sunday 7 and 8 September 2019

The sixth club exhibition and sale took place at Goathland Old Reading Rooms on yet another pleasant weekend.

In all there was just over £1000 in sales, resulting in a £280 net profit from commission for the club after payment of rent for the hall. There were 147 items sold, produced by 14 exhibitors, and many members turned up to help at some stage. Most of the sales were less than £10, and the most expensive items were £50 (skeleton clocks). Every single mouse that was made for sale was snapped up!

Our thanks as always must go once again to John Whiteley for all his exertions and expertise in this type of event, for his marathon stint manning the cash desk. Thanks also to all who exhibited items and did their bit manning the exhibition and inviting people in off the street in Goathland.

Rebekah Joy Plett:

"When buying from an artist/maker, you're buying more than just an object/painting. You are buying hundreds of hours of failures and experimentation. You are buying days, weeks, and months of frustration and moments of PURE JOY. YOU AREN'T JUST BUYING A THING, you're buying a piece of heart, part of a soul, a moment of someone's life. Most importantly, you're buying the artist more time to do something they are passionate about."
