2019 Club Exhibition and Sale
Goathland Old Reading Room
Saturday and Sunday 1 and 2 June 2019
The fifth club exhibition and sale took place at Goathland Old Reading Rooms on a pleasant weekend. I think the amount and variety of work surpassed any previous events, and attracted a lot of interest and positive comment.
In all there was £1400 in sales, resulting in a £410 net profit from commission for the club after payment of rent for the hall. There were 132 items sold, produced by 15 exhibitors, and around half the club members turned up to help at some stage. 60% of sales were less than £5, 78% less than £10, 87% less than £15. There were a couple over £40, and one really good sale - many thanks to Lance - at £360.
Our thanks as always must go once again to John Whiteley for all his exertions and expertise in this type of event, for his marathon stint manning the cash desk. Thanks also to our club secretary Lance for similar efforts and for his large pieces which boosted the sales total, all of which made the event a success. Thanks also to all who exhibited items and did their bit manning the exhibition and inviting people in off the street and out of the car park in Goathland.
