Geoff Walker Just completed a fluted platter in lime - my first attempt at staining and my second go at fluting. Re: Martyn’s comments on staining. I too have been averse to ’spoiling’ an otherwise naturally beautiful piece of wood. But now I’ve had a go I can see how, in this case a spirit stain, really can enhance an item in light coloured wood while retaining and bringing out the natural wood grain.
